Manawatū Rural Support Service

Manawatū Rural Support Service (MRSS) was founded in  1994 and works with the mission to visit, empower, provide free home based support services and referrals to appropriate agencies and to provide non judgmental, non- discriminatory, compassionate, caring support to those in need in the northern Manawatū. This includes Pohangina, Halcombe, Apiti, Kimbolton and Kiwitea.

MRSS employs two Rural Community Workers  Aevryl and Jo who endeavour to visit every home and family within their catchment on an annual basis to ensure rural communities are healthy, empowered, connected and supported. By building and connecting with rural, isolated communities, MRSS is able to help those who are vulnerable, identify issues that prevent people living fulfilling lives, and facilitate workshops, events and interventions that address these issues at the source.
