ASAP was formed in 2004 and from small beginnings of only 12 children, and afternoon sessions. We now offer morning, afternoon and holiday programmes with over 160 families accessing our service.
Our dedicated and experienced staff love their jobs and treat the children in our care as family. Staff have extensive experience in different child related fields of employment and volunteering as well as raising their own families.
We encourage any families considering ASAP as their before, after or holiday care facilitators to come to our centre during programme hours to have a look at what we have to offer and to meet our team.
What we offer:
Morning sessions start from 6:30 am. Parents can bring in cereal or bread and we will supply milk, sugar and spreads for breakfasts. We also supply Milo to warm kids up if needed.
We do understand that children are sometimes just waking up when they come to us and as a result provide low key morning activities such as crafts, a comfortable DVD room, computer games, lego and of course outside play weather permitting. We also have a wonderful hall so we can burn off some excess energy when the weather is not so good.
The mornings are also a great time to do homework and our supervisors are ready and willing to help with this.
Times and transport:
We have ASAP vans for those who need to be transported to schools and we start getting the children ready to go to at 8:15 am. We have two vans running in the morning that service the following schools:
Fees
The cost for care in the morning programme is as follows. N.B the following are charges for families that are NOT receiving an OSCAR subsidy.
Hourly rate is $12.50 for the first hour, $9.00 second hour and $8.00 for the third hour.
The first hour is always the full charge of $12.50 whether you use the full hour or not. For example, if you drop your child off at 8:00 am, you will be charged from 7:30 to 8:30 am.
All charges after the first hour of care are charged out in half hour increments regardless of booking time. We only charge for the time you use.
If your child is away on any given day, there is a minimum one hour charge of $12.50 for the booking. The exception to this rule is if your child is going to be away for a length of time, and you have given us advance notification of this, you will not incur a charge.
What we offer:
The afternoon programme runs every school day.Our closing time for this programme is 5:30 pm Monday to Friday.
When the children arrive at the centre, they are given a healthy afternoon tea of sandwiches, fruit, a biscuit and a drink. Filtered water is always available for everyone. If your child has allergies or special dietary needs, we will endeavour to accommodate them. This needs to be discussed with the supervisor at time of registering.
When afternoon tea is over, the children can choose from several different activities such as, outside play/sport, play in the hall, watching a DVD, doing an art/craft activity that is chosen for the day, or playing on the computers.
ASAP has an extensive range of resources for our kids. We are always looking to the needs of our different age groups and supplying age appropriate play/activities.
